Which material survives the ice bucket?
A drink label meets moisture almost everywhere — condensation, an ice bucket, a damp hand. The material is chosen for exactly that.
Textured paper (wine paper)
A tactile, premium surface, like a good wine bottle. Wet-strength versions survive hours in an ice bucket and condensation without smudging or peeling, and pair beautifully with foil and raised varnish. Best for wine, cider, spirits and gift editions.
PP / BOPP film
Absorbs no water and does not tear, so it takes the fridge in its stride. Available in white (bright colour print), clear (the modern no-label look on glass) and metalized film that gives a metallic shine without separate foil. Best for beer, cans and RTD cocktails.
Semi-gloss paper / kraft
A natural paper feel at a sensible price; brown kraft adds a craft character to cider and small-brewery beer. For moisture and condensation, protect paper with varnish or lamination. Best for budget ranges, markets and a craft look.

A cold, sweating bottle also needs the right adhesive — standard adhesive can fail on a damp, cold surface. For the fridge and the ice bucket, a freezer or High Tack adhesive holds; for refillable bottles, a wash-off adhesive comes off cleanly in a hot wash. Finishes that justify the shelf price

Wine now needs an ingredient list — the QR code solves it
Since 8 December 2023, wine placed on the EU market must carry a list of ingredients and a nutrition declaration (Regulation (EU) 2021/2117). The good news: most of it may be provided electronically, on an e-label reached by a QR code on the physical label.
- Stays on the bottle: the energy value (kJ/kcal) and allergens such as sulphites must remain on the physical label — these cannot move to the QR.
- May go on the e-label: the full ingredient list and the full nutrition declaration. The e-label page must carry no marketing content and must not collect user data.
- Beer and spirits: ingredients and nutrition are voluntary here, but a QR can still lead to the producer's story or a repeat purchase.
Where a deposit scheme applies, the deposit mark and barcode must be legible and scannable. Goldinken checks the QR code, deposit mark and barcode in the file review before printing.

What is the minimum order for beverage labels?
There is no minimum order. Goldinken prints digitally, without printing plates, so a small run for a single vintage, a seasonal beer or a limited release is just as feasible as a large batch. Several designs can be combined in one order to keep setup costs down.
My wine bottles go into an ice bucket — which label will not peel?
A wet-strength textured paper, or a PP/BOPP film label. Film absorbs no water, and wet-strength paper is made to survive hours in an ice bucket and condensation without smudging or lifting. A cold, sweating bottle also needs the right adhesive: freezer or High Tack adhesive grips damp, cold glass where standard adhesive can let go.
Does the "no-label look" work on bottles and cans?
Yes — clear PP/BOPP film blends into the glass so only the printed design shows, a modern look that suits craft beer and RTD cocktails. It usually needs a white underprint for bright colours and an adhesive that stays clear in damp conditions.
